Believe…Trust & Do but do we?

What does it mean to believe IN Jesus?Jesus with a child

We hear believe in Jesus as your personal Savior….saved from what? Most will say hell. But what does it mean?

Do we realize that Jesus as our Savior or “Rescuer” He is not just rescuing us from eternal separation from God but in the “here and now” too!

He as our Savior entails such profound exchange of HIS blood that covered OUR sins we really don’t understand the depth of that, not really.

To comprehend the fullness of Him is to not just have Him as Savior but as everything His name represents of Heavenly Father.

To “believe IN” means to be convinced of, with such conviction that we are not easily swayed in our thinking about the matter.

It means we are convinced that HE is Who He said and that only HE can bridge that gap between us and Heavenly Father…believing not only that HIS blood covers and exonerates our sin but that HE IS the bridge.

It means to be thoroughly convinced with sound conviction HE can and will do what He says…that HIS name in its entirety is TRUTH and the Way that gives us LIFE as Jesus said Himself …abundantly now and for eternity!

To be convinced that HE as Healer not only will heal but WANTS to heal us!

That He as Deliverer not only can deliver us but WILL deliver us!

When we are so convinced of this…nothing can shake us from that foundation and we not only “see” or “witness” the manifestation of miracles but live in a Divine way in our Divinely Re Created nature!

We have full access TO Heavenly Father…WHO by the way wants to “add too” us not take away. IF we only seek FIRST His Kingdom (His way, His government and dominion) and HIS righteousness …staying in right alignment and right standing with Him in our ways of thinking, speaking and actions.

Now how do we really trust in or believe IN Jesus as our Savior?

First off, understand that the Hebrew word “believe” means not only trusting but acting upon or actions.

WHEN a person comes to Jesus or surrenders whichever the case may be…and really meets HIM…there is a definite change. IN fact there IS an exchange let’s look at what John wrote in I John 2

25 This is the promise which He Himself promised us—eternal life. 26 These things I have written to you with reference to those who are trying to deceive you [seducing you and leading you away from the truth and sound doctrine]. 27 As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him]. 28 Now, little children (believers, dear ones), remain in Him [with unwavering faith], so that when He appears [at His return], we may have [perfect] confidence and not be ashamed and shrink away from Him at His coming. 29 If you know that He is absolutely righteous, you know [for certain] that everyone who practices righteousness [doing what is right and conforming to God’s will] has been born of Him.”

That anointing is the exchange where we are made new in Him. When this encounter happens, something very definite happens and we know it! There is NO doubt and we cannot wait to tell someone! Its called a testimony, where we testify with Holy Spirit HE really IS in us!

When people are affected by an emotional event at a church meeting or revival of sorts, very often they go forward on an emotional basis which ends up being disappointing because they really are not thoroughly convinced inside. How can I say this?

They return to their former ways, unchanged. While the “seed of life” is planted and no doubt will come forth, Lord willing in their life at some point, the true exchange may not have taken place yet. It is probably why so many could leave the church and turn atheist.

IF you have an authentic encounter with JESUS…you cannot turn into an atheist nor an agnostic. Not when its genuine.

It is why I personally believe we have so many IN church that DO believe Jesus is who He says but it seems so far removed from their day in time that it doesn’t seem “relevant” to them in their daily lives. OR He and Father God seem “far removed” in distance or concern for their daily lives and only interested in the “bigger things” in life. Just ask, you may be surprised how many people think God is too busy with other big things to be in the least interested in their daily life.

They cannot have understood the Word if they even read it, when it talks about HOW much He loves them.

To be Saved is to be saved not only from hell for eternity or from death’s sting, but to be saved from a life of “hell on earth” too!

Let’s see what JESUS said…

So Jesus said again, “I assure you and most solemnly say to you, I am the Door for the sheep [leading to life].”

“ I am the Door; anyone who enters through Me will be saved [and will live forever],and will go in and out [freely], and find pasture (spiritual security).10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].”

Life full…till it overflows! Abundant in the Greek is – superabundant, superior in quality, by implication… excessive! The word life is spiritual vitality, immortal soul, be thoroughly alive in our minds, wills, emotions etc.

Remember the phrase at most baptisms? Buried with Christ and raised to newness of life? That is us prior to our encounter and exchange with Jesus…we are and were buried WITH Him as HE acted AS us when HE died on the cross. WHEN we receive that…we also receive what was already prepared FOR us… NEWNESS of Life because when HE rose, so did we! new man emerging

THE deal breaker is this….us being thoroughly convinced by believing and acting upon that belief daily in intimate relationship with Him and not being quiet about it because we KNOW HE IS REAL!

Here is the other part…you cannot receive JESUS in parts or doled out portions!

HE is also OUR Healer AND Deliverer! on trial from principles for life

And so much more, HE stands in with us against the accuser! HE is our DELIVERER!

You cannot have a “new creature” or “NEW life being” as mentioned in II Corinthians 5:17 without healing and deliverance taking place!

To receive JESUS IS to receive ALL of Him!

How can you believe in this “new life” in you and hold on to the old thinking?

Old thinking that may sound something like this… “I know God can heal me, I just don’t know if He ‘wants too’ heal me”.

Moved with compassion [for his suffering], Jesus reached out with His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Mark 1:41  Account of this is also found in Matthew 8:3 & Luke 5:13

JEsus healingIF Jesus is willing…which means “He wants too…” why can’t people understand that HE fully represented the Father’s will and this IS His will to see people healed AND set free?

Saying that, demon possession is not the only thing people are “delivered” from either! They are delivered from wrong mindsets and wrong belief systems as well as delivered from soul wounds and daily snares the enemy throws at believers and followers of Jesus!

The Prayer JESUS taught us to pray is evidence of this and it would be a good idea to revisit the passages in Matthew 5-7 that has much of the meat of Christian life within the passages but not only that, gives us a glimpse of the way our Heavenly Father loves and desires a relationship with US! And if we truly love JESUS and FATHER and HOLY SPIRIT….we would want to spend time with Them as well!

You make time for who you love and desire to be with…think on that.

So, DO you TRULY believe IN Jesus?

It’s more than “fire insurance”…it is the REAL “LIFE” insurance WITH major benefits!Into His light
