We make “choices” every day about all sort of things.
I wonder if I told you that many of our “choices” are like living a “part-time Christian life” would it have any bearing on you? It would me.
A question we all need to consider… are we being fully committed to the cause of Christ Jesus, the will of our Heavenly Father?
What does that even look like in reality for us?
It is more than weekend ministry events and outreaches. It is more than weekly Sunday and Wednesday services. It is more than just hanging out with brothers and sisters in Christ from our “church” or “ministry” each week.
It is so easy to “put on a face” for people and to be quite honest, few church pastors and ministry leaders would even have the discernment to know if something was wrong but would rather “believe what they see” as an act or face for the crowd that we can quickly “put on”.
Others, who are in the places where they cannot seem to rise up from, often church pastors or ministry leaders do not know what to do with that person, so they casually avoid them. Sometimes “pawn them off” to others to help that person. It seems they are afraid to love that person and comfort them and be honest enough to say to them, I am not sure what to do for you yet, but know you are loved and you are not alone!
I see this same “avoidance” or “ignoring” of elderly congregational members, even some of the single women or moms or dads raising kids alone. I see it with the sick as well they are often “brushed off” as well or at least barely given any kind of comfort from their leaders. They choose to “look away” or “avoid” a situation they are not sure how to deal with! This ought not be beloved ones!
Why does this happen? One thing is that often the body of Christ is not taught right things because leaders choose not to “go there” as they may not have the answers.
THEN there are those leaders who DO train and teach but have members who are still repeating same destructive mindsets and behaviors but KNOW to do right things and CHOOSE not to do them!
It all boils down to “CHOOSING”!
Choosing is an act of our will and, will is what we have been given as a gift from Heavenly Father.
The Father never “forces” anyone to choose Him, His ways, Jesus as the redemption plan but rather, leaves people to “make a choice”.
The devil cannot “make someone choose him”! He is not, nor will he ever be equal to our Heavenly Father OR JESUS!
THE CHOICE IS in the “will” of a human being, for them to decide in other words
We choose every day, what kind of day we will have by our own mindset, attitude and words. We choose each day who we will serve, ourselves (ultimately the enemy plan) or blatantly choosing the devil and his plans, OR…we choose our HEAVENLY FATHER, Jesus, listening to Holy Spirit and Heavenly Father’s awesome plans and ways!
This part has to do with how our soul will be “fed for the day”. Will it be with a bad attitude, reading “through” the word or NOT even reading it? Throwing out a half-hearted “help me” prayer as we walk out the door, or go about the “next thing” for our day? Beloved, then THIS is what we are either feeding or not feeding our soul with!
We choose each day what we need to eat in order to live! We eat to live and have sustenance in order to keep our body functioning properly but guess what?
Just like our soul, we haphazardly put things in our bodies that is bringing bad things in as in our soul when we see or hear things that are bad, they stick to our souls. And guess what; what is IN there will come out! AND what is in our bodies will manifest too. WHAT?? Yes!
You eat fried foods and sugary dessert and wonder why you are lethargic? Feel very sleepy in afternoon time? THE FOOD you put in is stealing from your body and doing bad things to it. Sugar and fried foods bring inflammation! To arteries and bone joints!
Just like “unforgiveness” in our soul, also opens the door for a physical manifestation of arthritis! This is not just a “one thing issue” beloved!
Check it out… “III John 1:2
“2 Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually].”
Look at it this way…. beloved, as your SOUL prospers, I pray that you will be in GOOD HEALTH and prosper!
WHAT is that saying…. when we choose to do what we know to do for our souls (mind, will and emotions) as we have been taught and the WORD tells us we have encounters with the Lord, revelation of the Word we could not have without spending time with Holy Spirit Who teaches us the real depth of meaning of things Jesus taught and more!
WHEN our soul prospers, we behave, talk and act differently according to Romans 12:1-2. Interesting that the first thing we need to do is submit our body TO the Lord and then be transformed BY the Word. WHEN our soul prospers we speak like Jesus did, think like Him and act the way He did and we have deepening relationship with Holy Spirit, Jesus and Heavenly Father. IN our deepening relationship with Holy Spirit, we learn to “hear” Him clearly and begin to pay attention to “what” we eat! YES!
Soul prosperity is where we receive revelation on spiritual matters and practical matters. Remember the soul is mind, will and emotions.
If the mind stays the same, the actions and thoughts will as well. And, we speak out of our soul/heart which is what we really believe.
IF the heart is full of dark things like: depression, wrong doctrines, and other things not of God it will come out and it won’t change until there is a decision to change! CHANGE comes by CHOOSING!
What is it that keeps us from CHOOSING to DO what we know to be right, whether it is in our actions or what we eat?
Most often the earliest memory and experiences shape our way of thinking. Remember our minds are like computer hard drives; they take information in and store it in files, even hidden files.
Hidden files can be the most detrimental to a person’s life because they have forgotten how it got in and have no idea how to “delete” it when it does reappear.
How a person is raised, or how they grow up has a major impact upon their life and people live out of “what they know” whether what they “know” is truth or lies and deceptions of the enemy.
What is said to you at an early age, situations you are in that leave lasting impressions and/or some form of trauma that happened does “stick” to you soul (mind, will and emotions) like “hidden files” in your memory bank that will come up when triggered.
Most often things that “trigger” these hidden files are something that creates a sense or feeling similar to what you had felt when you experienced a bad situation, bad/negative things spoken or done to you, or some type of accident that was very traumatic. In other words, if you find yourself “feeling” similar feelings you had in a bad traumatic event at an action or situation you find yourself in currently…that is called a “trigger”. And you will respond the way you “learned” to respond. Over time, a stronghold is created. These issues of the soul are called “soul wounds”, which are places within the soul that has held on to the memory or feeling that the trauma caused and will remain in the soul until they are exposed and healed.
Doctors have discovered what the Word of God teaches about unforgiveness and forgiveness that is associated with physical illness or sickness and diseases. Doctors are recognizing that patients who refuse to forgive often stay sick.
“Harboring these negative emotions, this anger and hatred, creates a state of chronic anxiety,” Dr. Michael Barry said. “Chronic anxiety very predictably produces excess adrenaline and cortisol, which deplete the production of natural killer cells, which is your body’s foot soldier in the fight against cancer.” Report done by Lori Johnson on CBN 700 Club
This is just ONE type of sickness that is associated with harboring negative emotions.
People who keep on in destructive thinking, talking and actions are enslaved to what they have given themselves too.
This is what the Word says about that: “Romans 6:16 says it this way from the ERV bible-
“16 Surely you know that you become the slaves of whatever you give yourselves to. Anything or anyone you follow will be your master. You can follow sin, or you can obey God. Following sin brings spiritual death, but obeying God makes you right with him.”
What is it you “give yourself too?”
As followers of JESUS we are not to be slaves to sin anymore! WE have been made free.
So why are so many “not free”? First off they choose to not believe they are free. Choosing to believe is an act of the will, NOT a “feeling”!
You must make up your mind no matter what, YOU WILL CHOOSE as an act of your WILL to believe!
Then act upon that. As you act upon it by reading the word, asking to know the Lord more and of His ways in a deeper way you will discover Holy Spirit will bring revelation to your….SOUL! Then practice lining up your WORDS WITH THE WORD and NOT based upon your circumstances or with others around you who may not be in line with God or even Christians!
This is all about CHOOSING! The supernatural part is the great grace of our loving Heavenly Father Who has and will continue to empower each of us when we need HIS amazing help while we are turned to Him and trying to our part.
EVEN beloved in the place we are low and feel like we just cannot “do our part”…that is when we must call out to Him for HIS grace and then DO …choose it to do the “next thing”, take a step in doing what you KNOW TO DO! HE will always meet you!
PEOPLE…will NOT always be there for you! AND that is not something that you should blame them for. Sometimes Heavenly Father will NOT allow them to “be there” for you because HE wants YOU to learn to lean on HIM!!! If you say you want to “know Him” then knowing Him will most often require us to walk through areas we need to learn to know Him in so HE becomes more real to us because it is and always has been about “RELATIONSHIP”!
“1Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!) Praise the Lord, O my soul! 2 While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God as long as I live. 3 Do not trust in princes, In mortal man, in whom there is no salvation (help). 4 When his spirit leaves him, he returns to the earth; In that very day his thoughts and plans perish. 5 How blessed and graciously favored is he whose help is the God of Jacob (Israel), Whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 Who made heaven and earth, The sea, and all that is in them, Who keeps truth and is faithful forever, 7 Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets free the prisoners. 8 The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; The Lord loves the righteous [the upright in heart].
9 The Lord protects the strangers; He supports the fatherless and the widow; But He makes crooked the way of the wicked. 10 The Lord shall reign forever, Your God, O Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)”
May you be blessed this day and may this message bring you hope as you read it.
